LA Blocks Giant Slip ‘n Slide Due to Drought


Los Angeles has put the kibosh on a giant slip ‘n slide, dubbed Slide the City, that was scheduled to stretch along 1,000 feet of downtown streets on Sept. 28 because of concerns over the state’s unprecedented drought and plans to transport the used water to a city park.

Slide the City organizers had been working with Los Angeles officials for more than two months before receiving word that a city permit for their sold-out event had been denied, according to a note posted on their Facebook page Friday
