Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is withdrawing from his reelection campaign, but reportedly might be replaced by his brother, Doug.
Members of the mayor’s administration got to City Hall approximately 60 minutes before the 2 p.m. withdrawal deadline. They are now trying to register Doug Ford for the mayoral race before 2 p.m., but The Toronto Star reports that there is “some confusion” over whether the mayor’s brother will be able to get on the ballot in time
Rob Ford has become internationally infamous over the year as his troubled personal life has spilled into his political existence. He took a respite from office to attend rehab for alcoholism and drug abuse after admitting to using crack cocaine, but returned to work this past June with his eyes on another election this October Read more…
