Deadmau5 to Disney: Stop Using My Music


The battle between Disney and Deadmau5 rages on.

The electronic music producer also known as Joel Zimmerman sent a cease-and-desist letter this week to Disney for using one of his songs, “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” without his permission in a “Disney Re-Micks.” The short clips are “remixes” of Disney cartoons with new music

Disney is currently trying to block Deadmau5 from trademarking his well-known logo of a mouse head, claiming it is too similar to Disney’s own signage. While Disney is known for Mickey Mouse ears, the Canadian DJ is also recognized by the helmet he wears during shows. He also uses a mouse-eared logo reminiscent of his headgear on his products.
