BERLIN — There’s nothing more frustrating than a smartphone low on battery when you still need to powerSony wants to fix our universal battery-drainage woes with the promise of a device that can go two full days on just one charge.
The company launched its 5.2-inch Xperia Z3 flagship smartphone — and a smaller 4.6-inch version (Xperia Z3 Compact) — on Wednesday at the IFA 2014 tech conference in Berlin. The devices will come to T-Mobile in the U.S. and globally, starting in the fall. Pricing has not yet been announced.
Both are said to deliver up to 48 hours of usage before sucking away all battery life and can withstand water spills or a dip in the pool. There are also some pretty solid camera capabilities, and they offer a nice incentive for gamers: It’s the only smartphone with PlayStation Remote Play 2 access, allowing you to control games on PS4 remotely.
