Russian Journalist Missing in Ukraine Is Dead


Andrei Stenin, a Russian photojournalist who went missing in Ukraine last month, is dead, his employer, Russian news agency RIA Novosti said Wednesday.

Stenin, 33, died while traveling in a car on his way to an assignment in eastern Ukraine in early August, and his remains have recently been identified

“Our colleague, photojournalist Andrei Stenin has been killed. It turned out that he was not taken prisoner,” Dmitry Kiselev, director general of Rossiya Segodnya, the state company that owns RIA Novosti, said in a statement. “It turned out, no one planned to swap him for any Ukrainian military personnel or accuse him of terrorist activities.” Read more…
